About Me

Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm thrilled you've found your way here.

I'm Clai, a 1414-week-and-9-day-old Filipina currently making my way through life in Hanoi. Living, breathing, and working in this bustling city has been quite the journey. Some folks know me as Clai, but hey, you can call me whatever feels right to you.

I launched this blog a few years back as a way to capture my experiences and aspirations, hoping to sprinkle a little inspiration into the world. Fair warning though, I'm far from perfect when it comes to grammar, so please bear with me on that front!

So why "Life as I know it"?

Let's rewind a bit to my humble beginnings. Picture this: me, starting off as a Security Guard for a BPO company. It was a start, a way to earn a living, and a chance to polish my English skills. Now, don't get me wrong—I have the utmost respect for security personnel. It's a tough job that demands unwavering dedication. But deep down, I knew I didn't see myself in that role forever. Perhaps it was the stigma attached to it in the Philippines, where people often look down upon those in the security profession. I'd often hear, "SECURITY ka LANG" ("You're just a security guard"). That narrative stuck with me.

Then came a pivotal moment. A Call Center Agent strutted into our office, echoing those same sentiments: "SECURITY KA LANG" ("You're just security"). It struck a nerve. I found myself challenging that notion. "Why not try becoming a call center agent?" I thought. And just like that, a new chapter unfolded. It was daunting, stepping into the unknown. What if they were right? What if we truly are limited by our circumstances? Despite the fear and uncertainty, I took the leap.

Through these twists and turns, I've learned a valuable lesson: When you confine yourself to what you think you can't do, you miss out on growth. You overlook your strengths and weaknesses, and you settle for a fraction of what you could achieve.

So here we are, embarking on this journey together. This blog will be a chronicle of my life's ups and downs, victories and setbacks, and everything in between. It's a celebration of resilience, self-discovery, and the messy, beautiful dance that is life. ✨💗

Join me as I navigate the complexities of existence, one story at a time.

With love and sincerity,
